Heating in Marana

Marana is more than one housing era. A builder heat pump in a new tract and a gas furnace in older Continental Ranch fail differently on the first cold morning.

Marana stretches across more than one generation of houses, and the heat in those houses was not specified by a single builder. Along the I-10 valley floor, 85653 includes Continental Ranch and other older subdivisions where gas furnaces are still common. Newer tracts farther out were often built with heat pumps and no gas furnace at all. Dove Mountain, up against the Tortolitas, is frequently 85658 and is a different community with its own page. If you tell us “Marana” and stop there, the equipment guess will be wrong about half the time.

Some addresses people call Marana are 85743, and some of 85743 is Picture Rocks. That community is Picture Rocks, not a Continental Ranch street with a different nickname. Put the ZIP on the form and the subdivision name if you know it. The town overview for both seasons is Marana HVAC. Summer cooling for the valley-floor houses is Marana AC repair.

On a builder heat pump, the first cold morning can blow cool air briefly and still be working. Read heat pump blowing cold and defrost before you switch the stat to Emergency Heat. That mode is explained on Emergency Heat. On an older gas furnace, the matching pages are furnace not turning on and furnace repair. One breaker reset, then stop. If you smell gas, leave and call the utility instead of sending a form.

Valley-floor winters are milder than Oro Valley mornings and still cold enough to show a system that has not run since March. Attic ducts in two-story plans lose heat on the way upstairs. That is a duct note, not proof the furnace is undersized. Plumbing for these slabs, which often means a water heater in the garage, is Marana plumbing.

Attic access on two-story Marana plans is a note for the contractor, not a reason to climb a truss. If the only complaint is a bedroom over the garage, say that room. If the whole house is silent, say the thermostat mode and whether you reset a breaker once. Those are different visits, and the form should not make them sound the same.

We do not repair heaters. Sabino Creek may share a request with an independent contractor. The work and the warranty are theirs. Check the license at roc.az.gov.

Choose No heat. Include the ZIP, Continental Ranch or Dove Mountain or the name you use, and gas furnace or heat pump. Follow-up is by phone or email. Nothing is booked when you submit.

Marana heating questions

Which Marana, and which heat source.

Is 85653 the whole town?

No. 85653 covers a lot of the I-10 valley floor, including older Continental Ranch. Dove Mountain is often 85658. Some 85743 addresses are Picture Rocks, so the ZIP alone is not the subdivision.

New tracts have heat pumps. Our older house has a furnace. Does that change the request?

Yes. Say which you have. A heat pump that blows cool air for a minute can be normal. A gas furnace that does nothing is a different check. Do not describe a furnace as a heat pump because the neighborhood next door has one.

Where should Dove Mountain go?

Dove Mountain has its own page. You can still start here if you are unsure, but put 85658 and the name Dove Mountain in the details so the request is not treated as Continental Ranch.

Does Sabino Creek do the heating work?

No. We are a referral service without a contractor license. An independent contractor would do any repair. The form does not book that visit.
