“Emergency” on this page means the air conditioner is not cooling and the house is getting hot. It does not mean a truck is already rolling, and it does not mean nights, weekends, or holidays are covered by a dispatch desk. Sabino Creek Heating & Cooling follows up on these requests the same business day, by phone or email, and confirms whether we cover the ZIP. Choose System down now on the form so the request is sorted that way.
A dead system and a struggling system are different jobs. If the vents are warm, the outdoor unit is silent, the breaker will not stay on, or the coil is a block of ice, you are in the right place. If the supply air is still cool and one part of the house climbs through the afternoon, the system may be losing the load rather than sitting dead. That pattern is AC can’t keep up, and “this week” is often the honest urgency. The longer safe-check list for warm air is AC not cooling in Tucson. The repair visit itself is described on AC repair in Tucson.
What to do while you wait for the callback
Set the thermostat to Off if you see ice on the copper lines or the indoor coil, and let it thaw. Replace a filter you cannot see light through. Try a tripped breaker once. If it trips again, leave it off and write that down. Close interior doors only if that is how you normally live; do not shut every supply vent to “push” air at one room. Leave electrical panels and the outdoor disconnect cover closed. Do not hose the outdoor unit, and do not pour water into it.
Stop and get people out of the house if you smell gas, or if a burning smell is coming from the equipment. Those are not air-conditioner form questions. For a cooling failure that is only hot air or no air, the useful notes are simple: is the outdoor fan turning, are the vents warm or blowing nothing, and about how hot is the house. A photo of the thermostat and of the outdoor unit from a few feet back helps. You do not need the model number to submit the form.
What happens after you send it
We read the ZIP first, because coverage is confirmed from the ZIP rather than from the word emergency. Out-of-area ZIPs are rejected by the form so you are not waiting on a callback we cannot make. If the ZIP is in the Tucson metro area we cover, we follow up the same business day with availability and next steps. A diagnosis still comes before a price. If the equipment turns out to be at the end of a repair, we will say so. That decision is repair or replace, not something the word emergency settles.
Early warnings, before the system is already dead, are on AC warning signs. If dust and mud after a storm are what changed, read monsoon dust and mention what the coil looked like. Use the form on this page when the cooling is down now. Name, phone, and ZIP are required. Street address can wait.
