Do you publish a list of approved contractors?
No. This page is the checklist. It is not a roster and not a review.
The standard I use before a heating or cooling request goes further. It is a process. It is not a claim that a named company has already cleared it, and it is not a roster.
I’m Jim. I spent years hiring and managing trades, including for 106 rental homes and for a contracting company that did residential, state, and federal work. I’m mostly retired. This page is the bar I still use. Passing it is not something I announce about a particular contractor on this website, because I am not publishing a list, a rank, or a review.
I look the license up on the Registrar of Contractors site at roc.az.gov. The public search is linked from there. I read the number, whether the record shows the license as current, and whether the classification covers the work in front of the homeowner. A digit in an advertisement is not the lookup. The click-by-click version of the search is on check an Arizona HVAC contractor license. You can run that search yourself whether or not you use this form.
I ask for proof of insurance, the certificate, not a line that says “insured.” ROC’s own before-you-hire guidance says that, except for workers’ compensation, the agency does not require insurance in order to issue a license. A license record and an insurance certificate are two different pieces of paper. I treat them that way.
I read the complaint history shown on the public ROC record. I don’t keep a private score, and I don’t treat a quiet advertisement as a quiet record. If I have not opened the record, I don’t describe it as clean.
The standard I ask for is a written estimate with the scope and the price, before work starts. A number that only exists in a conversation does not meet it. You should be able to read what is included and what is not.
It is not a statement that Sabino Creek holds a contractor license. I don’t. It is not a directory, a star rating, or a promise about who will call you, how fast, or on what day. It is not a claim that every person who might be introduced has already been through the list. It is the standard. If a request moves ahead, these are the checks.
Not a Licensed Contractor. Sabino Creek Heating & Cooling is a referral service. We do not perform the repair. Confirm any license at roc.az.gov before work begins.

At roc.az.gov. Steps for the contractor search are on this guide.
No. ROC says that, except for workers’ compensation, it does not require insurance in order to issue a license. Insurance is a separate check.
The form is a request for a callback. It does not schedule a repair, and it is not an overnight line. If you smell gas, leave and call 911 or the gas utility.
