What a Tucson Maintenance Visit Covers

A maintenance visit is for equipment that still runs. Spring is the cooling pass. Fall is the heating pass. We do not publish a membership price. Ask on the form if you want a visit scheduled.

People ask for a maintenance plan because they want the visit on the calendar before the season, not a membership brochure. Sabino Creek schedules maintenance visits. We do not publish a plan price, a discount table, or a named club. If you want a visit, say so on the form. The price is part of the callback, after we know whether the house has a furnace, a heat pump, a central air conditioner, or some combination.

What these visits usually include, in this climate, is ordinary and specific. It is not a promise that every part inside the cabinet gets replaced.

Symptoms and how they’re checked

No Sabino Creek price column. TEP’s cooling tune-up rebate is a utility figure, explained under the table, and it is not a membership fee.

SymptomLikely causeHow it’s checked
Cooling worked last summer and you want it checked before the heatA spring maintenance visit, not a repairRun test in Cool, filter, outdoor coil condition, condensate drain, and obvious electrical issues. Refrigerant is discussed if the run test says it needs to be.
Heat has not been used since springA fall heating visitFurnace: inducer, ignition, flame, blower, filter, and the limit path. Heat pump: outdoor unit in Heat, defrost, and whether strips are carrying a mild evening.
Filter is packed after monsoon dustAirflow, which a plan visit is meant to catchReplace or clean per the filter type. A visit does not invent a clean-air claim the filter cannot support.
The system is already off, or you smell gasNot a maintenance visitRepair page or, for gas and CO, leave and call 911 or Southwest Gas. Do not book a tune-up for an alarm that is sounding.
You were quoted a club price by someone elseA different company’s offerBring the scope if you want a second look. We still do not publish a competing membership rate on this page.

Tucson Electric Power lists an AC tune-up rebate of up to $160 on its Efficient Home page: refrigerant charge repair $80, indoor coil cleaning $40, and outdoor coil cleaning $40. That list is cooling work. It requires a participating contractor. It is not a furnace checkup and it is not our visit price. Current wording is on tep.com and TEP rebates. Verify it before anyone subtracts it from a proposal.

The homeowner version of the same calendar is the printable season checklist. The heating-only description of a fall visit is heating tune-up. If the equipment is already down, start at heating repair or AC repair.

Maintenance questions

Do you sell a priced maintenance plan?

We do not publish a Sabino Creek membership price or a plan name with a dollar amount. A maintenance visit is requested on the form and priced after we know the equipment.

What do visits like this usually include?

A run test in the current season, the filter, airflow, obvious electrical issues, the condensate drain on a cooling visit, and the ignition or defrost behavior on a heating visit. The list on this page is the typical scope, not a contract.

Does TEP’s $160 tune-up rebate cover a furnace check?

TEP lists an AC tune-up up to $160: refrigerant charge repair $80, indoor coil cleaning $40, and outdoor coil cleaning $40. That is cooling equipment, it requires a participating contractor, and it is not a furnace-visit price. See tep.com and our TEP rebates page.

Is a tune-up the right call if the system is already down?

No. No heat, no cooling, a gas smell, or a CO alarm is a repair or an emergency step, not a planned inspection.

How often do Tucson houses need this?

One cooling visit before the hot season and one heating visit before the first cold night matches how the climate actually loads the equipment. We are not stating a legal requirement.

How do I book?

Use the form, choose Tune-up, and name the equipment. We follow up the same business day.
